Lash in a Dash is one of our most popular services at The Makeup Studio. You pick from our wide selection of Ardell lashes with the guidance of a professional makeup artist, and we apply it for free every time! They range in price from $6-$9 and can be used up to six times with proper care. A lot of our customers feel comfortable doing their own makeup for a casual night out, but struggle with applying a strip lash themselves. That's where we come in! You can really come in with your makeup already done and get your lashes put on without spending a dime. Since I see so many people intimidated by applying strip lashes themselves I thought I would share some tips and tricks for this week's blog.
Be sure to remove the clear glue after taking the lashes out of the packaging. Keeping this glue on will result in an uneven surface on the band making it more difficult to adhere to your skin. The strip lash will stay on much longer if there's no extra dried glue on the band.
Next, you want to give the strip lash some curve so it can form to the shape of your eyes. Some people wrap the strip around a makeup brush, but I just grab each end of the lash and bend it into a C shape. This does wonders for making sure the lashes won't start to lift in the corners of your eyes.
Don't close your eye when applying the lash! Position a mirror below your face so your eyes are open but looking down. Having your eyes closed can result in glueing your eyes shut or the lash being positioned way too high above your lash line.
I hope this helps the next time you try to bump up your makeup with a strip lash! If not, no worries. We've got your back and are happy to put them on for you any time you need.
