Doing makeup while on the go can be tricky at times, but it’s totally doable! Keeping your look polished and professional is a form of self-care.
Having a small makeup kit in your car or everyday handbag that holds your essential products can make it easy to freshen your look wherever you may be.
Here are some tips to consider when preparing your on the go makeup kit:
Natural Light: Natural light helps you apply makeup more evenly. If you are doing your makeup in the car, try to park somewhere with full-spectrum natural light, or sit near a window if you are on a train/plane/bus. (Never apply makeup while driving, only when parked!)
Portable Mirror: Use a small, handheld mirror with magnification for better precision, especially for areas like eyeliner or mascara.
Minimalist Approach: Since space is limited, prepare a simple routine. Opt for products with multiple benefits, like tinted moisturizer with SPF, a lip/cheek stain or cream product, compact eyeshadows, or highlighter/eyeshadow stick.
Avoid Messy Products: Stick with formulas that won't be messy or challenging to apply. Loose powders, loose shadows, glitter products, or products that can spill over or smudge are not the best for on-the-go makeup. Pressed powder foundation or cream products might be a better option than liquid or oil based products to avoid the chance of a mess.
Essentials Only: When choosing what makeup to put in a travel makeup kit, consider the makeup that is essential in your routine. For example, picking one or two essential products for different parts of the routine.
