When you live an active lifestyle, everyday makeup can be tricky. Many makeup products are not suitable to wear during exercise. One of the goals of working out is to get a good sweat in, while the goal of everyday makeup is to maintain a fresh and natural look, while avoiding anything that could clog pores or sweat off mid-workout. If you must wear makeup to workout, here are our best tips!
Start with a clean face:
Always begin with a freshly cleansed face to prevent any dirt or bacteria from getting trapped under your makeup.
Lightweight Moisturizer:
Use a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated without feeling greasy.
Powder Foundation:
Powder foundation can absorb excess oil and feels weightless on the skin.
Waterproof Products:
Opt for waterproof and sweat-proof products, especially for your mascara and eyeliner. This will help avoid smudging and running.
Tinted Lip Balm or Sheer Gloss:
A tinted lip balm gives a subtle pop of color and keeps your lips hydrated. A sheer gloss is another great option and reduces the risk of any color smudging.
Brow Gel:
Use a tinted or clear brow gel/wax to define your brows. This is usually long-lasting and smudge-proof.
Setting Spray:
Finish with a setting spray to keep everything in place. Some setting sprays have sweat-resistant properties!
Remember, the most important thing is to feel comfortable and confident. Some people prefer to go makeup-free at the gym, while others feel more at ease with a little bit of coverage. Do what feels best for you!
