By improving your work ethic, you'll notice positive shifts in both your business and your personal life. You'll experience less stress and greater clarity. Ultimately, success isn't just about what you do—it's also about what you avoid. It's the discipline to focus on what truly matters and let go of distractions that sets you apart and leads to lasting success.
When I was in my early twenties, I came to a pivotal realization: I had to change if I wanted to achieve success. Looking back at my teenage years, I recognized that many of my habits were holding me back, and I knew that to live a beautiful life and build a successful career, I had to make some serious lifestyle adjustments.
At 22, I made the decision to turn things around, and I haven’t looked back since. Here are a few of the most important changes I made, which have shaped both my personal life and my career.
Discipline and consistency became the cornerstone of my transformation. It's easy to get discouraged when change doesn’t come overnight, but the key is to make these habits a part of your daily life. The process may not always be glamorous, but when you stick to these principles, you begin to see profound shifts in both your personal growth and your business endeavors.
Remember, success doesn’t happen by chance—it’s built on the foundation of small, disciplined actions that are repeated consistently. When you focus on cultivating these habits, you’ll start to notice not just changes in what you’re doing, but also in who you’re becoming.
Get up earlier. Don’t hit the snooze. You’ll find peace in the morning and you will get much more done without distractions.
Hydrate with pure water first. Don’t drink caffeinated beverages first thing. Your body has to rehydrate with water. You’ll have less brain fog and headaches. You’ll be able to focus on your work.
Drink a gallon of water a day. Water keeps brain fog away. Helps maintain homeostasis in the body (that’s where everything is running properly).
Develop better morning and evenings routines that set you up for success. Give yourself a couple of hours in the morning to organize your home, exercise, eat healthy, and drink water. Wind down at night avoid screens.
Meal prep healthy meals or know the healthy choices at your favorite restaurant or takeout. Meal prepping also saves you money.
Don’t spend money you don’t have. Running your life and business on a deficit is extremely worrisome and stressful. This will drain your energy and productivity.
Exercise every day. Whether it is two hours in the gym or a 5 minute ab routine, you should do something every day. You can find the time to exercise.
Maintain a clean home and office. Clutter and filth can be very distracting. Have daily cleaning habits. Declutter daily and weekly. Don’t accumulate trash. Put things where they belong. Make your bed in the morning.
Quality time with family and friends. Nothing is more important than the love of family and friends. Connect through the phone and in person. Social media can be superficial.
Read something educational. Continue to learn. Be a forever student. Listen to podcasts that are educational while you are working out. Stimulate your mind and body!
Do one challenging task daily. Don’t procrastinate. Do the thing that scares you, even if it is frustrating and difficult. One small move is a big win.
Get outside. Whether it’s just taking out the garbage or a walk in the park. Being outside grounds you and reminds you that you are part of nature.
Take supplements that improve your health. Learn about your body and what it needs to function properly.
Have faith. Connect to your Higher Power for peace.
Give and share daily. This doesn’t necessarily mean give money. You can give a smile or a compliment. Be kind. Show love towards strangers. Extend yourself daily. Give mercy, grace, and give someone a break. Live a generous life.
Do you do these things? If so, how have these habits changed your life? What other habits do you do that make you successful? I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
